Image provides a free confidential helpline run by trained volunteers for those with problems related to pregnancy and those who need help after abortion or miscarriage.

Pregnancy

Being faced with an unplanned pregnancy can be difficult and bring many conflicting emotions. The helpline offers space and time to explore these feelings without pressure and consider the way forward. Help is available on the phone, face to face or through e-mail contact. There is also a texting service. The helpline offers information, where relevant, and practical help and support on a range of related issues (housing, finance, education, adoption etc). Local centres are also able to offer a free pregnancy testing service.

Help after abortion

Being involved in abortion may have brought with it a lot of unresolved feelings and hurts that it is difficult to share with anyone. The helpline is able to offer a non-judgmental listening service and referral for face-to-face help. Local centres use The Journey, a programme of post-abortion recovery that is having success across the country in helping people with problems after abortion.

Miscarriage support

The helpline offers a safe place to explore feelings of loss and provides emotional support for those who have had a miscarriage.
